Welcome to Kucera Middle School!

Dear Kucera Families, Students, and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! As Principal of Kucera Middle School, I am thrilled to welcome both returning families and those who are joining our Coyote family for the first time. Middle school is a pivotal season of growth, discovery, and opportunity, and I am honored to partner with our incredible staff, dedicated families, and talented students to make this year an extraordinary one.

This school year holds a special place in my heart, as it marks my fifth year as Principal at Kucera, my 10th year serving the Rialto Unified School District, and my 23rd year in education. Over my two decades in public education, my core belief has remained unchanged: every single student can achieve at high levels when provided with the right support, resources, and encouragement. My passion continues to be leading a school culture centered on academic excellence, strong character, and social-emotional growth.

At Kucera, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every Coyote feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, or through our creative arts and extracurricular programs, our team works tirelessly to ensure rigorous instruction and a nurturing campus climate. 

During the 2025-2026 school year we achieved some incredible distinctions. Most notably was being recognized as a California Schools to Watch and a National Forum Schools to Watch. Kucera was also recently awarded as a California PBIS Gold level school. Our boys flag football team also won the district championship for the first time in the school’s history. 

Education is a collaborative journey, and our success relies heavily on the strong partnership between our school and the Rialto community. I encourage all of our families to stay connected, involved, and active in our school events throughout the year.

I am Michelle Nellon, I am deeply honoredI am Michelle Nellon, and I am deeply honored to serve as your Assistant Principal. With a lifelong commitment to educational equity and student growth, I am dedicated to serving our students, partnering closely with families, and giving back to the vibrant Rialto community. My priority is to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and high-achieving school environment where every family feels heard and every scholar is supported in reaching their academic and personal goals. Great schools are built on strong partnerships between home, school, and community. I look forward to working hand-in-hand with our Rialto families to advocate for our students and ensure they have all the resources needed to succeed.
